When it comes to removing dirt and bacteria in an already wet environment, we highly recommend using chem-dry processes. The chem-dry (dry cleaning compound) is injected into the carpet where it breaks down dirt and grime while absorbing moisture(*4). It is then extracted from the carpets leaving them clean and it dries quickly.
It is great that you’ve removed all water from your home however, huge risks to your health and the integrity of your home remain. According to Microbiology Australia(*5), micro-organisms and fungi carried in water sit in the nooks and crannies of your flooring, skirting boards and walls and grow(*5). All areas must be properly cleaned and sanitised after water has been removed.
We recommend contacting us immediately to give your carpets and home the highest chance to be fully salvaged. The source of the water is the main key in carpet restoration.
It is free to call us and discuss your situation in order to make the best decision for your home. Even if you have been evacuated from the flooded area and your home, it is never too early to call.
